If your IPTV provider is the official broadcaster or carries its channels as part of a legal package, those channels are what you will open in Stream Master. Stream Master is only a player: it plays the M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login you already have and does not supply any channels or subscriptions.

Following a three-slot Thursday in Stream Master

Eighteen matches running from mid-afternoon to late evening in Europe, or from mid-morning into the afternoon on the US East Coast, are a lot to keep track of. Stream Master helps with reminders, a split screen and catch-up.

Set kick-off reminders from the TV guide

If your provider sends guide data (through Xtream Codes, or an XMLTV guide for M3U playlists), the match listings appear in the EPG grid. The grid shows today and tomorrow, so you can set reminders on Wednesday 25 November or on the day itself, as long as your provider’s guide includes the matches.

  1. Open the Playlists tab and choose your playlist.
  2. Go into the Live TV category that holds your sports channels.
  3. Tap the grid button in the toolbar to switch from the list to the EPG grid.
  4. Find the channel showing your match and tap the bell on the programme. You will see “Reminder Set”.
  5. Repeat for the other kick-offs you care about. They appear under Upcoming Reminders on Home.

Two things to know: the bell only appears on programmes that have not started yet, and the notification arrives at the programme’s start time, not before. If notifications are off, the app asks you to turn them on in iOS Settings. For M3U playlists, the guide address in the playlist is used automatically; on iPhone and iPad you can add or replace it under the playlist card’s menu, Edit Playlist, field “EPG URL (XMLTV)”. The guide shows only what your provider includes, so if a channel shows “No Information”, the provider has not sent listings for it. More on this in our EPG guide.

On Apple TV, open TV Guide from a Live TV category. It moves through today and the next two days in three-hour windows, and Upcoming Reminders also appears on the Apple TV Home tab.

Watch up to four matches at once with Multi-View

At 18:45 CET nine matches start at the same moment. Multi-View (Pro) lets you put up to four of them on screen together, with sound from one tile at a time.

On iPhone and iPad, start a match and tap the Multi-View button (the 2x2 grid icon) on the right of the player, or long-press a channel and choose “Open in Multi-View”. The first time, a “High Data Usage” notice appears. Use Add Screen to add tiles, then Add Channel on an empty tile to open the Select Channel sheet, where you can search for the channel you want. Tap any tile to move the sound to it; the active one has a green border. Two matches sit side by side, three or four fill a 2x2 grid.

On Apple TV, choose Multi-View on Home or Open MultiView from a channel’s detail screen. Moving focus to a tile switches the sound to it, and clicking a tile offers Add Screen, Remove Screen and Change Channel. Press Back/Menu to close it. Four live streams use a lot of bandwidth, so a wired or strong Wi-Fi connection helps. For a fuller tour, see the Multi-View feature page.

One purchase unlocks Pro on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, so you can switch between devices during the evening.

Catch up on the 16:30 match

Kairat Almaty v Mjällby kicks off at 15:30 in the UK and 10:30 on the US East Coast, when many people are at work. If you use an Xtream Codes playlist and your provider archives that channel, you can replay it from the start later:

  • iPhone and iPad: in the EPG grid, past programmes that can be replayed have a light-green background and a green rewind icon. Tap one to watch from the beginning.
  • Apple TV: in the TV Guide, select the past programme to play it from the archive, or long-press the channel to list its whole archive. Start Over and Back to Live are in the player’s options panel.

Catch-up is available to free users too. If the programme is outside your provider’s archive window, it plays live instead. Our catch-up guide covers the details.

A few other useful touches

  • Favorites: add your sports channels so they sit on Home. Free users can keep up to five.
  • Channel surfing on Apple TV: press Up or Down on the Siri Remote to move through the channel list you opened the player from, which is handy for hopping between the 21:00 matches.
  • Recording (Pro): on iPhone and iPad, tap the red REC button in the player’s top bar to record the live match, one recording at a time. On Apple TV, choose Record in the options panel.
  • Picture-in-Picture: on iPhone and iPad, keep an HLS stream in a floating window while you use other apps.
