Multi-View: Watch Up to 4 IPTV Channels at Once

Watch up to four IPTV streams at once on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV with Stream Master Pro. How to set it up, switch sound and what the limits are.

Multi-View in Stream Master plays up to four streams from your own IPTV playlist at the same time. It is available on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV as part of Stream Master Pro, and one Pro purchase unlocks it on all three. Stream Master is a player only: the channels come from the M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login you already have from your provider.

What you can do with Multi-View

  • Watch up to 4 streams at once. Keep several channels playing together instead of switching back and forth.
  • Get an automatic layout. One stream fills the screen, two sit side by side, and three or four are arranged in a 2x2 grid.
  • Choose which tile you hear. Only one tile plays sound at a time. On iPhone and iPad, tap a tile to give it the sound, and a green border shows which one is active. On Apple TV, the sound follows the tile you focus with the remote.
  • Mix live TV, movies and series on iPhone and iPad. The “Select Channel” sheet has Live TV, Movies and Series tabs, plus search.
  • Run a grid on your TV with Apple TV. The Apple TV app has its own Multi-View, so you can watch several live channels on the big screen without casting from your phone.

Some common ways people use it:

How to use it

On iPhone and iPad

  1. Add a playlist if you have not yet: open the Playlists tab, tap +, then choose Link m3u (Playlist Title and Playlist URL) or Xtream Login (Playlist Title, Xtream Username, Xtream Password and Xtream Portal URL). Step-by-step help is in How to Add and Manage IPTV Playlists.
  2. Open your playlist and pick a category in Live TV, Movies or Series.
  3. Start Multi-View in one of two ways: play a channel and tap the Multi-View button (the 2x2 grid icon in the stack of buttons on the right of the player), or long-press a channel in the list and choose Open in Multi-View.
  4. The first time, a High Data Usage notice appears. Read it and continue.
  5. Tap Add Screen to add a tile. An empty tile shows Add Channel; tap it to open the Select Channel sheet, then pick from the Live TV, Movies or Series tab or search by name.
  6. Repeat until you have up to four tiles.
  7. Tap the tile you want to hear. To remove a tile, tap its X. When you are done, tap Close Multi-View.

On Apple TV

  1. Add your playlist from the Playlists tab with +, using Link m3u or Xtream Login, the same as on iPhone.
  2. Select Multi-View on the Home tab, or open a channel’s detail and choose Open MultiView.
  3. Click (or long-press) a tile to see Add Screen, Remove Screen and Change Channel.
  4. When you add or change a channel, the picker lists your playlist’s live channels, with search.
  5. Move focus between tiles with the remote to switch the sound.
  6. Press Back/Menu to close Multi-View.

If you use iCloud Sync (Pro), the playlists and favorites you set up on iPhone or iPad also appear on Apple TV when the devices use the same Apple ID, so you do not have to type a long playlist URL with the remote. Xtream passwords are not stored in iCloud, so Apple TV asks once for the password of a synced Xtream playlist (“Enter Password”).

Tip: saving the channels you watch together to Favorites makes them quicker to find. Free accounts can keep up to 5 favorites; Pro removes the limit.

Limits and requirements

  • Devices: iPhone and iPad on iOS 16 or later, and Apple TV on tvOS 18.5 or later.
  • Stream Master Pro: Multi-View is a Pro feature on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Pro comes as a monthly, yearly or lifetime plan; prices vary by country and are shown in the App Store. Pro also removes ads on iPhone and iPad and unlocks recording, downloads, AirPlay, Chromecast and iCloud Sync.
  • Four streams maximum: Multi-View tops out at four tiles.
  • One sound at a time: you hear one tile, not a mix of all of them.
  • Live channels only on Apple TV: the Apple TV picker lists live channels. Movies and series in Multi-View are an iPhone and iPad option.
  • A playlist from your provider: you need an M3U link or Xtream Codes login from a legal IPTV provider you subscribe to. Both playlist types work. Stream Master does not include any channels.
  • Your provider and connection: four tiles means four streams playing at once, which uses more data and bandwidth than one. If your subscription limits how many streams can play at the same time, check with your provider before building a full grid.

When Multi-View is not available

  • On the free plan. Free users see the Multi-View button in the player, but tapping it opens the Upgrade to Premium screen. The free plan still includes one playlist, Picture-in-Picture, the TV guide, catch-up, program reminders and parental control.
  • When you want more than four streams. Four is the maximum.
  • When you want to browse while keeping one channel full screen. Use the channel list sidebar and carousel inside the player, or Picture-in-Picture to keep watching while you use other apps.

Is Multi-View free in Stream Master?
