Offline Downloads for IPTV Movies on iPhone & iPad
Download movies and series episodes from your IPTV playlist to iPhone or iPad with Stream Master Pro and watch them offline. Live channels not included.
Offline Downloads let you save movies and series episodes from your own IPTV playlist to your iPhone or iPad, then watch them later with no internet connection. It is a Pro feature on iPhone and iPad. It is not available on Apple TV, and it does not work for live channels.
What you can do with it
- Save movies and episodes for later. Any movie or series episode in your playlist’s Movies or Series sections can be downloaded. Finished downloads play offline in the normal Stream Master player, so they work on a plane, on the underground, or anywhere your connection drops.
- Start a download two ways. Tap the Download button in the player, or long-press a movie or episode in a list and choose “Download”.
- Keep downloading in the background. Downloads continue while you do other things. The Downloads screen shows each running item under Active Downloads with its progress, plus pause, resume and retry buttons.
- Control mobile data use. “Wi-Fi Only” is on by default, so Stream Master waits for Wi-Fi unless you choose otherwise.
- Choose how many run at once. In Download Settings you can set “Max Concurrent Downloads” anywhere from 1 to 5. The default is 3.
- See what you already have. Once a title is downloaded, the player’s Download button shows a green check.
How to use it
- Add your playlist if you haven’t already. Open the Playlists tab, tap +, then choose Link m3u or Xtream Login. See how to add and manage IPTV playlists for details.
- Open Movies or Series and find the title or episode you want.
- Start the download in one of two ways:
- From a list: long-press the movie or episode and choose Download.
- From the player: start playing it, then tap the Download button (the arrow-down circle) in the vertical button stack on the right of the player. A Confirm Download dialog shows the title and a Wi-Fi recommendation. Tap Download to start, or Cancel.
- If you are on cellular with Wi-Fi Only switched on, a Confirm Download / Wi-Fi Recommended alert appears. Confirm starts the download over cellular anyway. Cancel keeps it queued until you are back on Wi-Fi.
- Track progress on the Downloads screen. Open it from Settings > Downloads, or from Home > Downloads > See All. Running items sit under Active Downloads, where you can pause, resume or retry them.
- When an item finishes, it moves to Completed. Tap it to play it offline in the normal player.
- To remove a download, swipe it to delete on the Downloads screen.
- To change behaviour, tap the gear icon on the Downloads screen to open Download Settings. There you can toggle Wi-Fi Only and set Max Concurrent Downloads.

Limits and requirements
- Pro required. Free users can see the Download button in the player, but tapping it opens the “Upgrade to Premium” screen instead of starting a download. Pro is available as a monthly, yearly or lifetime plan. It also removes ads and unlocks unlimited playlists and favorites, AirPlay, Chromecast, recording, Multi-View and iCloud Sync.
- iPhone and iPad only. You need iOS 16 or later. The Apple TV app does not offer downloads.
- Movies and series episodes only. Live channels cannot be downloaded, and the player hides the Download button while a live channel is playing.
- Your own content source. Stream Master is a player. Downloads come from the movies and series in the playlist your IPTV provider gives you. The app does not include or sell any content.
- Storage. Downloads are saved on your device. To check how much space the app is using overall, go to Settings > Storage Usage. Our guide to Stream Master settings and storage explains these options.
When downloads are not available
- On live TV. If you want to keep something from a live channel, use Recording instead. Tap the red REC button in the player to save it as an MP4 (also Pro, iPhone and iPad).
- On Apple TV. There is no download option in the tvOS app.
- On the free plan. The button is visible, but it leads to the upgrade screen.
- On cellular with Wi-Fi Only on. Downloads wait in the queue until Wi-Fi is available, unless you tap Confirm in the Wi-Fi Recommended alert.
If a download stops partway, use the retry button next to it under Active Downloads.
